It has been almost two months since the popular beachfront resort closed its doors to the public amid news of COVID-19, but now, after implementing a series of preventative measures and updating their good hygiene practices, Villa del Palmar Puerto Vallarta is ready to reopen. This decision, which wasn’t taken lightly, comes only after the Federal Government of Mexico officially gave certain businesses and corporations the go-ahead to return to business, requesting that they adhere to suggested sanitary and security measures to protect everyone from further health risk. Now, with infection control measures in place and after having spent weeks focusing on strict cleaning and disinfection protocols, the family-favorite is inviting guests back to the resort.

Along with the other establishments owned by The Villa Group, Villa del Palmar Puerto Vallarta was among the first hotels in the region to close its doors, proving that the health and safety of its guests, employees, and community were its top priority. While guests were away and the majority of staff was at home, the resort focused on making improvements to the premises, and began working on improved standard cleaning protocols and safety measures that would become the new norm at the resort. With a new vision in mind, employees were asked to undergo training pertaining to the symptomatology, precautionary measures, and sanitation requirements related to COVID-19.

With the importance of cleanliness in mind, Villa del Palmar Puerto Vallarta is now undergoing deeper resort cleaning each and every day, focusing primarily on the high traffic and touch areas of the resort and extending into the private resort rooms where high-grade disinfectant cleaning will be completed in between guest reservations.

Director of Operations for the Vallarta-Nayarit Region of The Villa Group, Alan Pujol, emphasized the importance of their new protocols at Villa del Palmar Puerto Vallarta. "At The Villa Group Resorts, we remain committed to keeping our guests, staff, and community safe. During this time, employees are being trained on the symptoms of the coronavirus, and everyone is abiding by the preventive measures, disinfectant cleaning standards, and good hygiene practices we have implemented at our resorts. By creating new security measures such as these, guests will be able to safely return to their favorite destination time and time again."

From the moment guests arrive, they will be greeted by the same friendly faces as before and many of the same services, only now, with the new precautionary measures in place. Guests will be encouraged to participate in safety measures by washing their hands often, keeping their distance when queing at the onsite supermarket, and by abiding by the resort’s new policies regarding social distancing both poolside and at restaurants. In addition, guests will have to temporarily do without certain services, such as valet parking and in-room meal preparations, as the resort tries to limit the direct contact between staff and guests.

Given the current circumstances, the importance of cleanliness and infection control measures is at an all-time high. By implementing cleaning and disinfection protocols and deeper, more frequent resort cleaning, the staff and management at Villa del Palmar Puerto Vallarta hopes to keep everyone safe.
