How Do You Play a Pickleball Game?

The sport combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping pong into one extremely fun activity that people of almost any age can play. Using a modified tennis net on a badminton court, between 2 to 4 players hit a plastic wiffle-like ball back and forth using a paddle that is somewhere between a tennis racket and a ping pong paddle in size. Playing pickleball requires you to learn a few easy rules:

Keep the ball inbounds, an area defined by the white lines on the court, or else you’ll lose your serve and have to give the ball back to your opponent(s).
Allow the ball to bounce once and only once before lobbing it back to your opponent(s).
All serves must be done using an underhand technique at the baseline, with at least one foot out of bounds. Players should serve diagonally to the other side of the court.
Your serve cannot land in the non-volley zone, which is the rectangular box nearest to the net on each side of the court.
A traditional pickleball game is won by the individual or team that reaches 11 points first with at least a 2 point lead. Variations go to 15 or 21 points.
